CU's loans are repaid

CREDIT unions are the country's most successful at convincing customers to repay their loans, research has outlined.

The local community lenders are three times more likely to have the money repaid.

In the last 12 months alone, credit unions have secured 816 court judgments valued at more than €14.2m, with the average debt standing at €17,502.
