Cuba to expand internet access

Cuba has said it is greatly expanding internet access by adding wifi capacity to dozens of state-run internet centres and more than halving the cost of an hour online.

It is the first significant expansion of the internet in Cuba.

A spokesman for Cuba's state communications company said 35 government computer centres around the country would have wifi starting next month, and the price of one hour online would drop to €1.75 from €3.85 now.
