Credit cut warning

GLOBAL rating agency Fitch has put Ireland on notice that we may have our credit rating cut if growth falls below expectations.

The French-owned agency said that Ireland's stress tests in March were "credible". However, it noted that the budget deficit remains large and recovery fragile.

"If this recovery fails to materialise in the second half of 2011, the rating will come under further downward pressure," it said.
