Cranes under hammer

IN A STARK signal of the end-of-the-boom era, Ireland's first ever dedicated crane auction sold 15 massive tower cranes, currently erected across Dublin and Limerick.

Bids on the cranes varied from €15,000 to €70,000 each for the massive cranes, which all went under the hammer, with Wilson's Auctions at their Kingswood Cross Auction Complex beside Citywest on the Naas Road.

More than 1,000 bidders from across Ireland, the UK and Europe attended the auction onsite with more than 100 online bidders also registered for the sale.

The majority of the cranes purchased are going to Germany, Poland, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Dubai and Africa.
