Woman 'who was out of her mind with drink' kicked a garda in the face
blanchardstown district court
A WOMAN has been ordered to undergo anger management treatment after she assaulted two gardai.
Natasha Gleeson (38) was "out of her mind with drink" on the night of the assaults, Blanchardstown District Court heard.
Gleeson, of Corduff Crescent, Blanchardstown, pleaded guilty to assaulting Gda Kevin Flatley and Sgt Seamus Leonard last June 10.
She further pleaded guilty to using threatening and abusive behaviour, intoxication and obstructing Gda Maciej Makowski at Wellview Avenue, Mulhuddart, on the same date.
Gda Makowski said she was called at 3.15am to Wellview Avenue where Gleeson was using threatening and abusive behaviour in front of members of the public.
She had to be restrained before being arrested and kicked Gda Flatley in the face. She then tried to get out of the patrol car while being taken to the garda station. She then punched Sgt Leonard in the face.
Gleeson, who has four previous convictions, was attending a house party and had been drinking for a long period of time, her solicitor said.
"Madness comes to mind," remarked Judge David McHugh, "I can picture a scene of a person very much mad on the night in relation to her behaviour."
He convicted and sentenced Gleeson to four months in prison, which he suspended, and ordered her to undertake anger management courses.
