A WIDOW who twice got behind the wheel of a car without insurance has been banned from driving for three years.

Bernadette Harte (40) was also fined €750 at Dublin District Court when she admitted the charges.

Harte (right), with an address at Balbutcher Drive, Ballymun, pleaded guilty to driving without insurance or a licence at Jamestown Road, Finglas, on September 21, 2005, and at Ballygall Crescent last March 29.

The court heard she had previous convictions for similar offences.

Harte's husband died in custody earlier this year.
