Veronica's brother challenges NCT fine
THE brother of late journalist Veronica Guerin has been given permission by the High Court to challenge to penalties imposed on him for not having an NCT certificate on a company car.
James Guerin, of Thomanby Lawns, Howth, Dublin, says Circuit Court Judge Heneghan acted unreasonably in fining him €1,075.
He was convicted in May 2011 in the District Court of not having a cert.
He appealed to the Circuit Court and on February 12 last, Judge Margaret Heneghan affirmed the fines. Yesterday, the High Court's Mr Justice Michael Peart granted him leave to bring a judicial review.
