A THIEF who snatched an interpreter's handbag from a Dublin courthouse has been jailed for two months.
Noel McNamara (30) grabbed the bag and put it under his jacket to hide it, but a garda spotted him and the property was recovered.
Blanchardstown District Court heard that McNamara was unwell at the time, and the theft was "clumsy" as he was "never going to get away with it". The defendant, of Weavers Court, Clondalkin, admitted theft. He was appearing in court on other matters at the time, for which he was jailed for six months.
