Teen stole guitar to hit player

A TEENAGER stole a guitar from a musician and threatened to hit him over the head, a court heard.

Jake Doyle (19) sat beside the musician who was with three friends, all foreign nationals, at the West Pier in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, on May 21 last year.

The defendant, of Ballyogan Crescent in Carrickmines, admitted before Dun Laoghaire District Court to a charge of robbery.

Doyle admitted to stealing goods worth €18 from Woodies, Carrickmines, on September 8, 2012, and to burglary at Military Road in Dun Laoghaire.

Judge John Lindsay adjourned the matter to a date in September.
