TEEN is accused of duping Man of €3k in truck scam

A TEENAGER is alleged to have stolen €3,000 in cash from a man after duping him into believing he had a truck for sale.

Colin Daly (18) allegedly advertised the truck for sale on an internet website – but when the victim transferred a deposit to his account he failed to show up with the vehicle.

Judge David McHugh adjourned the case until April to allow Daly speak to his solicitor.

Daly, of Old Court Mill, in Tallaght, appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with theft.

The alleged incident took place between September 29 and October 1 last year.

The court was told victim contacted Daly by telephone and said he was interested in buying the vehicle. He was told to make a deposit of €3,000.

The man made the deposit but Daly did not turn up with the vehicle.
