Son leaped on car as it was seized

A SECURITY guard jumped on top of his mother's car and started roaring and shouting abuse at gardai who told him they were going to seize the vehicle, a court heard.

Mark Ingram (23) had been out partying with friends, had drunk at least 10 pints, and had been given a lift by another individual in his mother's car.

The defendant, of Bawnlea Avenue in Tallaght, admitted before Tallaght District Court to public drunkenness and threatening and abusive behaviour.

The incident took place at Kilcarrig Crescent in Tallaght shortly after 4am on October 9 last year.

The court heard that Ingram has 11 previous convictions, all for road traffic matters.

The court heard that Ingram worked as a security guard for over five years, but is currently unemployed.

Judge James McDonnell said Ingram owed €2,350 in historic fines relating to his previous convictions, and he wanted to see proof of payment.

The judge adjourned the matter for one week for sentencing.
