A MOTHER-of-two who hit out at gardai while they were arresting her brother was angry because she had called him in a panic after a group of people tried to break into her apartment, a court heard.
Edel Armstrong (29) claimed her brother was only trying to help her as she was upset and afraid.
She said that six people tried to break into her apartment after she told them that she didn't have a cigarette to give them.
Judge Patrick McMahon fined Armstrong, with an address at Aras Na Cluaine, Watery Lane, Clondalkin, €200.
She admitted before Blanchardstown District Court to charges of public drunkenness, threatening and abusive behaviour and obstructing gardai during the course of an arrest at Aras Na Cluaine apartments on February 20.
