A DUBLIN man was one of three who forcibly entered a pharmacy and robbed cash and drugs while threatening staff, it is alleged.
Shane Doyle (31) was remanded on continuing bail when he appeared in Dublin District Court in connection with the alleged raid.
The accused, with an address at Annamoe Terrace, Cabra, is charged with robbery at Morriss's Pharmacy, Seventeen Shops, Cabra on March 28.
A garda sergeant told Dublin District Court it would be alleged that three men forcibly entered the premises on the day in question, threatened staff and made off with money and tablets.
Sexual assault 20 years ago
A DUBLIN man accused of sexually assaulting a young man nearly two decades ago is facing trial.
The 51-year-old defendant is facing trial by judge and jury in the Circuit Court after the DPP ruled the matters were too serious for the District Court.
The accused appeared before Tallaght District Court charged with sexually assaulting the male, contrary to Common Law.
The alleged incident took place at a house in Tallaght on an unknown date in 1983.
Garda Sergeant Bernard Jones said the DPP has directed trial on indictment in the Circuit Court in relation to the charge, where the penalties are greater than in the District Court.
Mother jailed for five days
A MOTHER of four who spent five days in custody after she was unable to come up with cash bail described the experience as "traumatic".
Judge John Lindsay applied the probation act after he heard that Victoria Valentine (35) had spent the weekend in prison.
The defendant, with addresses at St Nathy's House, Churchtown and Carrickmount Drive in Rathfarnham, admitted before Tallaght District Court to stealing children's clothing, valued at €20.
The incident took place at Penneys in Nutgrove Shopping Centre on May 24 last.
