Man had €10,000 of cocaine for others, court hears

A YOUNG Dubliner allegedly told gardai that he was storing cocaine for other individuals after he was caught with €10,000 worth of the drug.

DARREN O'Connor (26) was allegedly found with the cocaine after his south Dublin home was raided.

The accused appeared before Tallaght District Court, charged with possession of cocaine as well as having the drug for sale or supply.

The court heard the DPP has directed summary disposal of the matter in the District Court.

Garda Sergeant Bernard Jones said gardai searched O'Connor's home at Kilcarrig Close in Tallaght on February 20 last year.

Sgt Jones alleged that 142g of cocaine with a street value of €10,000 was found. The cocaine was divided up into a number of individual deals.

Judge John Coughlan adjourned the matter to a date in May for hearing.
