Man gets longer sentence for calling judge 'four-eyes'

A JUDGE jailed a man for seven days after he called him a "four-eyed c***" during a court sitting.

District Court judge Seamus Hughes had just sentenced Thomas McDonagh (33) to a month behind bars for threatening and abusive behaviour when his outburst won him an extra week's detention.

McDonagh, with an address at 18 Hazel Grove, Clonbalt Woods, Longford, pleaded guilty to the public order offence after he called a garda on duty "a rat's face garda f***".

The public order incident happened at Main Street, Longford, on January 10, 2010.

After being warned by the judge, he shouted on the steps of the court: "Add the seven days, you four-eyed c***."
