Man facing €2,000 bank theft charge

A MAN accused of stealing €2,000 from a Dublin bank has been remanded on continuing bail for DPP's directions on the charge.

Teodor Halastaun (45) is alleged to have stolen €2,000 in cash from the Permanent TSB in Drumcondra in an incident which was captured on CCTV cameras.

Judge Patrick McMahon adjourned the matter for four weeks for DPP's directions on the charge.

Halastaun, of Louisa Bridge in Leixlip, Co Kildare, appeared before Blanchardstown District Court.

The alleged incident took place at the Permanent TSB in Drumcondra on March 16 last.

Defence lawyer Jennifer Jackson requested all statements as well as CCTV footage of the alleged incident, and also asked for a video copy of an interview which gardai conducted with the defendant.

Judge McMahon adjourned the matter for four weeks.
