A YOUNG man accused of seriously assaulting a woman and holding her prisoner in her home has been sent forward for trial.
Jason O'Toole (23) has been ordered by a judge to stay away from the victim and from her home in Clondalkin.
The defendant, of Ballyfermot Drive in Ballyfermot, appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with seriously assaulting a woman and falsely imprisoning her, contrary to Section 15 of the Non Fatal Offences Against The Person Act, 1997.
The alleged incident took place in and around September 5 and September 6, 2009 at Foxdene Avenue in Clondalkin.
The State solicitor said the book of evidence was ready and had been served on the defendant, who goes forward to the present sittings of Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
Judge Patrick McMahon gave O'Toole the alibi caution, warning him he had 14 days to provide to the State details of anyone he proposed calling as a witness in his defence.
Judge McMahon remanded O'Toole on bail in his own bond, and ordered him to stay away from the victim and her firstname.lastname@example.org
