Man charged with €187k benefit theft
A DUBLIN man is facing trial charged with stealing €187,000 in benefits over a 16-year period.
Brian Bobey (61) had the case against him adjourned for the preparation of a book of evidence.
Mr Bobey, with an address at Walkinstown Parade, is charged with multiple counts of theft of various sums totalling €187,000.
He is alleged to have stolen the money from the Department of Social Protection at Errigal Road Post Office, Drimnagh, on dates between 1997 and 2013.
