Man (25) on gun charge
A YOUNG man who was allegedly caught by gardai with two stolen shotguns has been sent forward for trial on the charges.
Emmet McAuley (25) was allegedly stopped by detectives in Clondalkin and found with the weapons.
He is facing trial by judge and jury in the Circuit Court after the matters were deemed to be too serious for the District Court.
McAuley, of Colthurst Road, Huntington Glen in Lucan, appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with possession of two stolen shotguns, a semi-automatic Benelli shotgun and a Beretta shotgun.
He is also charged with possessing firearms without a licence and that he did not have the guns for a lawful purpose. The alleged incident took place at Station Road, Clondalkin on May 17.
