McEntee, with addresses at Foxrock Grove, Deansgrange, and Frankfield Terrace, Summerhill South, in Cork, appeared before Dun Laoghaire District Court charged with possession of a knife and obstructing gardai at Grange Crescent, Deansgrange on January 1.

The case was adjourned until March.

Grandad had

fake licence

A GRANDFATHER who was sold a fake driving licence by a man claiming to be from the motor tax office has been convicted of possessing a forgery.

Stroke victim Barry Bourke (78) was overheard by a man in a pub talking about having no licence to drive his grandchildren around and the fraudster said he could get him one.

The man then showed up at his door demanding money, while Bourke thought the licence was real.

He admitted possession of a false driving licence at his home at Sycamore Park, Dublin, last may. Bourke admitted buying the licence and was fined €150.
