Intruder teen gets jail term

A TEENAGER who was seen cutting copper wire in an industrial estate has been given a three-month sentence.

Thomas Greene (19), of Elmdale Park, Ballyfermot, admitted trespass in the incident, along with a co-accused Patrick Maher (23).

Maher, of Cherry Orchard Green, Ballyfermot, was told he could avoid a conviction by making a charity donation after Blanchardstown District Court heard he was "along for the ride".

The incident happened at William Cox Ltd, Cloverhill Industrial Estate on June 6 last and security staff sounded alert.

Greene is currently serving a sentence and Judge Anthony Halpin made the three months concurrent.
