In Brief: Theft trial goes to higher court

A MAN has appeared at Tallaght District Court accused of stealing €24,000 in cash from a supermarket.

Michael Sweeney (30), of Neagh Road, Terenure, is also accused of burning out a Volkswagen car used in the robbery at Lidl, Grange Road, Rathfarnham, last May 16.

He and his alleged accomplices are facing trial in the Circuit Court after the DPP ruled the matters too serious for the District Court. Judge John Coughlan adjourned the matters to next month.

 

HEROIN CASE IS ADJOURNED

A MAN has pleaded not guilty to having heroin with intent to sell or supply.

Darren Hutch (32) had the case against him adjourned to a later date when he appeared at Blanchardstown District Court.

Hutch, of Virginia Drive, Finglas, is charged with having diamorphine at St Margaret's Road, Finglas, last January.
