In brief: Man accused of steel press theft
A DUBLIN man accused of stealing a steel press worth €4,000 from an engineering company has had the matter adjourned for four weeks for DPP's directions on the allegation.
Francis Gavin (30) is alleged to have stole the steel press from an engineering company at Station Road Business Park in Clondalkin.
The alleged incident took place on January 21 last.
Garda Sergeant Maria Callaghan told Blanchardstown District Court that gardai are awaiting DPP's directions on the charge.
The defendant (above), of Moyclare Avenue in Baldoyle, was remanded on continuing bail to appear before the court in four weeks.
Boy bailed after mugging girl
A YOUTH who threatened a teenage girl with a glass bottle during a mugging has been remanded on bail pending sentencing.
The boy (16) pleaded guilty at the Children's Court to robbery of the girl (17) in Artane, in Dublin, on July 22 last. He has also admitted shoplifting and trespassing offences and Judge Catherine Staines said the robbery incident was a very serious charge. The teenager had been with a group of youths and "threats were made by the accused that they had a glass bottle".
The judge remanded him on bail for a probation report to be obtained.
The case was adjourned until March.
