Guilty plea to kidnap charge
A MAN has admitted false imprisonment and assault in a change of plea during a trial.
Aurelijus Zrielskis (37) of Cois Chlair, Claregalway, had pleaded not guilty to falsely imprisoning and causing serious harm to Jaan Eemon at Menlo in Galway.
He was re-arraigned yesterday and pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of assault causing harm. He also admitted false imprisonment. His co-accused, Gintautas Bagdonas (32) of Clan House, Dominick Street, had denied false imprisonment and causing serious harm to Mr Eemon.
Bagdonas pleaded guilty on day two of the trial to a lesser charge of assault causing harm and false imprisonment.
Both men were remanded in custody to be sentenced in May.
Body found in derelict house
THREE men who were curious about a derelict house and decided to look around discovered the badly decomposed body of a man inside.
Jacek Jurasz, originally from Poland, had been dead for some time the discovery in Milltown, Dingle, Co Kerry on February 15, 2011.

ACTOR Dick Van Dyke (86) has married a 40-year-old make-up artist.
The Mary Poppins star and Arlene Silver were wed last week in a small Leap Day ceremony at a Malibu chapel near Van Dyke's California home.
Michelle Triola Marvin, Van Dyke's partner of 30 years, died in October 2009 at age 76.
