'Good taste' of serial shoplifter
A shoplifter who stole Gucci and Prada handbags worth over €2,500 was told by a judge that she was obviously "a lady with very good taste".
Elizabeth Gaffney (40), of Galtymore Road in Drimnagh admitted a string of thefts to get money so she could feed drink and cannabis addictions.
Judge Patrick McMahon at Blanchardstown Court said Gaffney had good taste in handbags, saying he had only read about the designer gear in newspapers -- then jailed her six months.
Gaffney, who has shoplifted in Brown Thomas, Marks & Spencer and Debenhams, is already serving six months in jail for previous offences.
