Girl (9) 'afraid' of accused boy
A NINE-year-old girl may have to give evidence via video link at the Dublin Children's Court in the prosecution of a teenager charged with false imprisonment.
The 17-year-old boy was charged in May at the Children's Court with the offence, which allegedly occurred in north Dublin on a date in May 2008.
Yesterday the prosecution said the girl was "afraid and does not want to give evidence in the room, does not want to see him". Judge Bryan Smyth said that perhaps her evidence could be given by way of video-link. The defendant will appear again next week.

Dave Grennan (39) said he was about to finish stargazing when he spotted the 290 million-year-old spectacle over his home in Raheny, north Dublin.
