A woman "refused to calm down" after gardai caught her fighting with another woman on a city street.

Sarah Reilly (29) was put on a peace bond for a year when she admitted a public order offence.

Reilly, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to causing a breach of the peace.

Dublin District Court heard the incident happened at College Green at 3.30pm on March 29.

Gardai saw the accused fighting with another woman. She shouted abuse at this woman and a passer-by who tried to help.

Methadone

Reilly refused numerous requests to calm down and was arrested. The court also heard of an earlier, separate incident at Tesco Express on Thomas Street on August 30, 2016.

A security alert was activated and the accused was seen running from the shop with a man.

She had €24 worth of stolen groceries on her when she was stopped and arrested.

Reilly was now on methadone, had a three-week-old baby and "seems to have gotten her life together", her lawyer told Judge John Lindsay. She was in stable accommodation and had turned her life around.
