Garda grabbed round the neck

A FATHER-of-three who intervened in an arrest by putting his arm around a garda's neck had serious health problems and had spent time in a coma, a court heard.

Repeat offender David Sheridan (43) also stole nearly €3,000 worth of property in another incident when he broke into a car.

He had the case against him adjourned for the preparation of a probation report after he admitted public order, drugs, criminal damage and theft offences.

Judge William Early said he would consider imposing a suspended sentence if Sheridan of Summerhill, Dublin 1, did not get into any further trouble.
