A JOBLESS man who smashed a pub manager's car window when he was ejected from the bar while drinking on the anniversary of his father's death has been jailed for four months.
Father-of-one Desmond Collopy (24) had 130 previous convictions.
Judge Ann Watkin jailed him, saying he had shown contempt for the law.
Collopy, of Landen Road, Ballyfermot, pleaded guilty at Dublin District Court to criminal damage and causing a breach of the peace in the incident on June 26 last year.
Garda Aoife O'Neill told the court she was called to the County Bar in Ballyfermot. Collopy had been ejected and as he left broke the front passenger window of the bar manager's car. He also became threatening and abusive.
Defence barrister Rory Staines said it was the fourth anniversary of his father's death and he had gone out drinking.
