Drunk arrested while at A&E

A DRUNK A&E patient had to be arrested after she refused to leave an ambulance when she was taken to a Dublin hospital.

Oksana Sorokina refused to get out of her wheelchair and began shouting.

Sorokina, with an address at Brookdale Drive, Rivervalley, Swords, pleaded guilty to public intoxication and causing a breach of the peace at the Mater Hospital A&E on March 23 last.

Judge Grainne Malone said she would leave the defendant without convictions if she made a charity donation.



Man fined for garda abuse

A SOUND engineering graduate who shouted abuse when gardai were called to a disturbance outside a Dublin restaurant has been fined for a public order offence.

David Fagan (23) began shouting and cursing when officers arrived after his friend had been refused entry to the premises.

Judge Cormac Dunne imposed the fine and conviction after hearing the accused had previously been given a warning by gardai.

Fagan, with an address at Clan Carthy Road, Donneycarney, pleaded guilty to causing a breach of the peace at Wexford Street on May 4, 2012.
