Deaf thief snatched phone off bus youth
A BUS passenger who likes "the buzz" from taking headshop highs, snatched a mobile phone out of the hands of a young Italian student, a court heard.
Jason Comerford (29), who is deaf, ran off the bus with the phone, worth €200.
He was later identified as the culprit after gardai looked at CCTV footage.
The defendant was also found guilty of obstructing gardai during a drugs search. He told officers he liked "the high and the buzz" from taking the headshop high Wild Cat.
A judge ordered a probation report. Comerford, of Eblana Avenue in Dun Laoghaire, admitted the theft before Dun Laoghaire District Court.
