Conman tried to sell fake iPhone

THIS is the man (below) who was caught by gardai trying to sell a fake Apple iPhone to another man on the street.

John Paul Nevin (32) was looking for €150 for the phone, and claimed he was in financial trouble at the time.

Nevin, of St Francis Park in Navan, admitted the offence at Dublin District Court.

The incident took place at Liffey Street Upper, Dublin 1, on November 9 last year.

Judge Grainne Malone ordered Nevin to complete the restorative justice programme and adjourned the matter until March.

Garda Richard O'Donnell said he was on patrol shortly after 5pm when he same across the defendant trying to sell a fake Apple iPhone to another man.

Nevin, a father of five, and an accomplice were observed trying to sell the fake iPhone for €150.
