A man who threatened to kill a woman after kicking in her front door threw potted plants at her window, it is alleged.

Robert Butler (29) is facing trial for burglary.

A judge decided the case was too serious to be dealt with at Dublin District Court and adjourned it for the preparation of a book of evidence.

Mr Butler, of Brookwood Road, Artane, is accused of entering the woman's house in Brookwood Road with intent to steal her mobile phone.

He is also charged with damaging a phone.

Forensic

Outlining the allegations, a garda sergeant said the prosecution maintained that Mr Butler and another person threatened to kill the woman after kicking in her front door.

They left by the back door and threw potted plants at the window, it was alleged.

Judge Anthony Halpin refused jurisdiction to deal with the case in the district court.

The defence had asked for forensic evidence to be disclosed, but Judge Halpin said this could be included in the book of evidence.

He remanded the defendant on continuing bail to appear in court again in September.
