Accused of stealing €24k

A FATHER of two has appeared in court accused of stealing over €24,000 from a health insurance company.

Denis Shubina (30) is alleged to have stolen the money from Allianz's worldwide care centre over a period of two months last December and January.

Detective Garda Michael Kilfeather, from the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation, asked for the matter to be adjourned to a date in July as DPP's directions on the charges.

The adjournment is also to facilitate a holiday by Shubina later this month.

Man had bike that was stolen

A MAN was on a suspended sentence when he "recklessly" let his uncle give him a stolen bicycle, a court heard.

Edward Moore (21) did not know the bike had been stolen but made no enquiries and ended up in court charged with handling stolen property.

He had his case referred back to Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for determination on the original sentence that had been suspended.

Moore, with an address at St Teresa's Gardens in the south inner city, pleaded guilty at Dublin District Court to handling the stolen bicycle.
