Conditions get worse
MANUFACTURING companies saw another deterioration in operating conditions in December, for the second month in a row.
The NCB Purchasing Managers Index posted a reading of 48.6 in December, up marginally from the figure of 48.5 in November.
Any figure below 50 signals contraction in a sector, while a figure above 50 signals growth.
NCB said that the fragile economic conditions and uncertainty in the eurozone led to a reduction in total new orders last month.
