Clinton drives €2.8bn aid

Former US President Bill Clinton will co-chair a committee overseeing at least €2.8bn in earthquake aid to Haiti.

Mr Clinton will join Haiti's prime minister, Jean-Max Bellerive, as joint head of the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission, tasked with co-ordinating and handing out aid money.



Glasvegas drummer quits

Mercury Prize-nominated chart act Glasvegas have announced that drummer Caroline McKay has quit the band.

The Glaswegian act -- whose hits include Geraldine and Daddy's Gone -- said they were "sad" at her departure.

McKay was noted for her unusual playing style, standing rather than sitting as she performed.



New baby for Cold Feet star

Cold Feet star John Thomson has become a dad for the second time.

The actor's wife, Samantha, gave birth to a daughter, Sophia Melody. The baby weighed in at 7lb 7oz.

The couple already have a daughter, Olivia, who is seven.

He said: "All three of us -- Sam, Olivia and I -- are absolutely made up."
