Dalky: Massive surge in graffiti tags
Cameras are being used to identify the perpetrators of graffiti tags in Dalkey as the village has seen a major rise in the crime.
A public meeting, organised by the Dalkey Tidy Towns group, is taking place in the town hall tonight at 7.30pm to agree an action plan to deal with the surge.
In the last 12 months, 1,600 tags have been removed from buildings and homes in the area. The group and gardai have been using cameras in an effort to pursue the vandals.
The Dart line is the worst-hit area, according to a spokesman for the group. Ardeevin, Cunningham and Sorrento roads are also being targeted.
