Cisco staff wait for cuts to fall
IRISH employees of technology giant Cisco Systems face a nervous wait following the announcement that the firm is to cut around 5pc of its global workforce.
The company, which employs more than 200 people in Ireland, has not yet said where the redundancies will be made.
The decision came despite a growth in the company's earnings in the last quarter.
Chief executive John Chambers (right) said that the global economy was "challenging and inconsistent", adding that the company would be cutting around 4,000 jobs.
