Celebrities flood into Venice for George and Amal's wedding
Hollywood star George Clooney and his fiancee Amal Alamuddin look blissfully in love ahead of their romantic wedding in Venice today.
The couple were joined by model Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber for a cruise past St Mark's Square after arriving.
Stars from across the world flooded into the glamorous Italian city yesterday for the celebrity wedding of the year.
Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso and actor Miguel Ferrer were all welcomed by Clooney.
The newly-married Jolie-Pitts and Bono are also said to be among the guests.
Sixty close friends and family are believed to be attending the celebrations, with Andrea Bocelli and Lana Del Ray rumoured to be performing at the lavish event.
The privacy-loving couple are set to tie the knot in the beautiful 14th Century Ca' Farsetti palazzo in Venice.
Former Mayor of Rome Walter Veltroni - who wrote the foreword to Barack Obama's 2006 book The Audacity of Hope - is widely speculated to be officiating at the ceremony.
The seven-star Aman Canal Grande Hotel is expected to play host to the glitzy reception, and it has been reported that the streets and canals of Venice will be closed off between noon and 2pm today to facilitate the wedding.
The reception is set to be quite the party as it has been reported that Gerber was seen setting out on his private plane with 100 cases of his and Clooney's own brand of tequila, Casamigos.
The couple, who got engaged last April, have been notably private since getting together and only made their first red carpet appearance together last week.
Amal (36), who is a human rights lawyer, is thought to be wearing a dress by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen after being spotted leaving her London studio earlier this month.
Burton is best-known for having designed Kate Middleton's iconic royal wedding gown.
Earlier this week Italian designer Giorgio Armani confirmed that he would be dressing Clooney (53) for the wedding.
"George has chosen and been fitted for an Armani suit for his wedding," the Italian fashion designer told reporters.
It has also been widely-rumoured that Amal's family are paying for the wedding, despite Clooney's incredible wealth.
