Catching dole cheats
NEW checkpoints are blitzing 'White Van Man' dole cheats on their way to work.
Social welfare inspectors and the gardai have set up a rush hour crackdown aimed primarily at vans carrying workers.
The sweep on the black economy is part of Social Welfare Minister Joan Burton's campaign against fraudulent benefits claims.
Now it's spread panic among tens of thousands of dole cheats costing us hundreds of millions every year.
"The checkpoints are ingenious -- how can you defend yourself when you're caught in a van clearly on the way to a job," said an insider.
