C&C looks to expand
DRINKS group C&C is looking at new takeover opportunities here and overseas.
The group has virtually eliminated borrowings through the sale of Tullamore Dew to William Grant for £250m (€278m) but has refused to be drawn further on its intentions.
Meanwhile chief executive John Dunmore said the future for cider was bright, with it possibly absorbing 5-10pc of the long drinks market. Overall volumes in the first quarter rose 14pc on the same period last year, while net sales were up 10pc.
