Yesterday, very suspicious activity was reported in Cabra, where two young men were selling sets of knives door-to-door.

They called to homes on the Carnlough Road, Fassaugh Road and St Finbar's Road.

However, burglaries remain the major local crime in the Cabra/Finglas area.

A total of six break-ins were reported on Febraury 28 alone.

This was followed by an attempted break-in at Quarry Road on March 1, at 8.30pm.

In this incident, a woman was alone in her home when the burglars began removing a window from her property, in order to gain access.

When she screamed, the burglars left empty-handed.

There was another attempted break-in at Valley Park on February 27, between 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
