Burglar threatened man (78) with knife in broad daylight
AN ELDERLY man was threatened at knife point and locked into a room as a man burgled his home in the city's latest serious aggravated burglary.
The pensioner was subjected to the terrifying raid at his home in north Dublin on Monday afternoon.
The 78-year-old was the sole occupant of the property when a man forced his way into the house.
The thug then proceeded to threaten the defenceless man at knife point while demanding to know the location of any cash or jewellery at the address.
The raider then locked the terrified victim into a room, before making off with a small quantity of jewellery.
The incident occurred in the Old Street area of Malahide in north Dublin between 3 and 3.30pm.
Luckily the pensioner was not injured in the shocking incident.
No one has yet been arrested in relation to the incident on Monday, and gardai in Malahide are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have seen a male acting suspiciously in the vicinity to contact them.
