Broadband for schools

COMMUNICATIONS Minister Pat Rabbitte and Education Minister Ruairi Quinn have marked the roll out of the second phase of the high-speed school broadband in Ireland.

Students in Warrenmount have demonstrated the benefits of the technology by participating in a virtual learning experience, whereby students are taught by a teacher in another school via an internet connected screen.

The second phase of this project guarantees that by the end of 2013 all second level schools in Dublin, Meath and Kildare will have 100 Mbps broadband access.
