Britney’s Irish fans fork out €600 to meet their idol
BRITNEY SPEARS’ Irish fans are forking out nearly €600 for a meet and greet in Dublin with the American star.
The Herald can reveal how followers of the pop princess (29) have splashed out for special packages for her O2 Dublin date on October 24.
It seems money is no object for some fans of the Toxic singer, who will bring her Femme Fatale concert here in two months.
The mum-of-two also took to the stage here in June 2009 with her Circus tour.
This time around, she's charging a cool €575 for the ‘meet and greet' as she cashes in on her popularity.
There has clearly been no shortage of demand for them either, given that they're already sold out.
Including a prime seat in the balcony of the venue, fans will also have a brief meeting with the star with a backstage tour, an autographed tour book and a piece of merchandising.
Just seven places remain on the other premium package, which will set fans back €265 and does not even include a meeting.
The ‘back stage' tour package includes a general admission ticket, a pre-show backstage tour and a piece of merchandising. However, the entry tickets don't come cheap either.
Prices for tiered seating start from €54.80 up to €91.25 with standing tickets costing €70.70.
Supporting her at her Irish gig will be American heart-throb Joe Jonas, who has played here before with his brothers.
The 22-year-old Jonas Brother will be joining Spears for nine of the dates on the European leg of the Femme Fatale tour.
Last June saw her kicking off her world tour in Sacramento amid decidedly mixed reviews from music critics.
But she said she “can't wait” to come back to Europe and perform for her Irish fans, promising them a show that will be “outrageously spectacular.”
Britney has also confirmed dates in Russia, Ukraine, Switzerland, France, Denmark, Sweden, Germany and Portugal.
She will be performing 21of her smash hits when she plays here, including two surprise songs from her new album Femme Fatale.
After Dublin, she'll head up to Belfast to perform a concert at the Odyssey before flying to London to continue her tour there.
