Brendan to lead city's Patrick's Day parade
Comedian Brendan O'Carroll will be Grand Marshal of this year's St Patrick's Day parade in Dublin.
The Mrs Brown's Boys star was chosen for his outstanding contribution to entertainment.
"It's an amazing honour, I'll be going as myself rather than Mrs Brown as I don't want to scare the kids," he told the Herald.
"The thought that they would pick me. It never crossed my mind, so I was very surprised.
"I don't have to worry about being funny on the day, I just have to turn up and wave - I'll know how the president and the Queen feel after it," he laughed.
The O'Carroll brood will be joining him on the day.
"All my family will be there, they'll get to watch from the grandstand and they'll have a brilliant time - they're all so excited," he said.
