Boy (15) admits theft and drugs

A 15-YEAR-OLD boy once said to "commit crime to get money for food" is to be sentenced in March for burglary, theft and drugs offences.

Dublin Children's Court heard that an excellent probation report on the teenager had been furnished.

Judge Ann Ryan noted that the boy had stopped offending in recent months and said he had made "great strides".

The boy has also pleaded guilty to possessing heroin worth €250 for the purpose of sale or supply to another.
