BoI to shut branches

BANK of Ireland plans to close nine branches in Northern Ireland between May and June, which will reduce its network to 35.

The bank, which has insisted it has no plans for branch closures in the Republic, said it was investing £10m (€11.9m) in its Northern Irish branch network.

Staff affected will be either redeployed to other branches or businesses, or become eligible for redundancy.
