Blathnaid's house is full of 'barmy' test madness

About town

TACKLING the Leaving Cert at work with her Radio Na Gaelige series is helping presenter Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh (pictured left) cope with the exam madness in her own house.

"Our house is barmy this year because we have a Leaving Cert and a Junior Cert student," she said.

"It's my first time so I'm a complete novice on the exam front and everyone keeps saying it gets easier - it's a bit like having your first baby," she added.

Blathnaid's special series will be broadcast from March 1 to 6 and will cover all aspects of the Irish Leaving Cert exam and offer tips to help students beat stress.

Chef makes his Mark

THIS week a panel of chefs from Ireland and the UK - who hold five Michelin stars between them - named Mark Moriarty, Sous Chef at The Culinary Counter, as the best emerging chef at a cook-off for the S. Pellegrino Young Chef 2015 competition, held at Harrods of London.
