Beat the winter blues as bright colours set to be top new season trend

The weather may be getting colder but there's no need to be blue as bright colours set the tone as the top trend for autumn/winter fashion.

Fashion week may be well underway in New York, but yesterday it was all about fashion statements closer to home.

Gorgeous Roz Purcell and Kerrie- Nicole Blanc both stepped out in style yesterday to prove that autumn/winter needn't be dark and dreary.

The models took to the streets of Dublin to showcase next season's must-haves from cheap and cheerful online retailer Boohoo.com.

DARING

Leggy Kerrie-Nicole looked stylish in a white pant suit, daringly teamed with a bright pink blazer.

Tipperary beauty Roz wowed in a metallic t-shirt and skirt combo with a cap to match.

Key trends for the new season include faux fur, skirts in feminine silhouettes and matching floral trouser suits.

And proving that winter fashion needn't cost a fortune, Penneys also features splashes of bright colour as part of their autumn/winter collection.

The Irish retailer, known for their on-trend pieces at bargain prices, will have coats in every colour and style to suit all complexions.

Hats are also set to be a top trend with everything from trilbies to baseball caps and beanies in vogue to keep our ears toastie.

Metallics are still in for the season ahead and are a great choice for that special occasion or Christmas party this winter.

A pink metallic dress is set to be the look of the party season as both Penneys and Boohoo feature them in their new collections.

The dress from Boohoo even has long sleeves, which will keep you warm on those cold nights out on the town.
